 The TimeWise skin care line is what made me decide I loved Mary Kay. In particular I loved the TimeWise Night Solution (which is amazing and will enhance all your moisturizers and make your skincare products last longer) and the Night Restore & Recover Complex.

The Night Solution and Night Restore & Recover Complex, when used in my regular skincare routine, made a significant and noticeable difference in my skin. I have pretty dry skin, and load tons and tons of products on to it. It's even worse in the winter, where the heating makes my skin constantly flaky. My nose is always peeling and the lines in my forehead become even more visible than usual. My dermatologist told me that my forehead wrinkles are genetic and there's pretty much nothing I can do about them (aside from botox).

I have used many many different moisturizers, from Walmart brands to Creme de la Mer, which runs around $100 per ounce...and that was about 6 years ago, so I imagine it's even more expensive now. On top of that, recent studies into the ingredients of Creme de la Mer show that it's not even remotely worth the price tag.

However, I found that after I had added the Night Solution and the Restore & Recover Complex (for normal/dry skin, they also make a combination/oily formula) that I saw a very noticeable difference in my skin and in how my foundation looked. In additional to eliminating the peeling, and the redness associated with dryness and flaking, my obnoxious forehead line was also far less visible than usual. Furthermore, my foundation, which usually creases in my obnoxious forehead line by the end of the day, remained smooth on my skin, which I attribute to the evenness created by the two products.

People usually make fun of Mary Kay but I have to say, these products totally won me over! The products are $30 and $40 respectively, which is a pretty good deal on their own, since you only need the tiniest amounts. A single sample pouch of the Night Solution lasted me a couple weeks with daily use. I'd say you only need about a pea size amount of the Night Solution to get the job done. Also, since the Nigh Solution creates an even and prepped skin surface, you really only need a tiny amount of the Restore and Recover Complex.

According to the company, here's why it works so well -

- Activating collagen production. Collagen is important because it provides structure and firmness to the skin, thus keeping it from sagging and developing wrinkles.

- Targeting the skin matrix. In relation to the first bullet, the skin matrix is important in providing structure to the skin. By keeping it strong, wrinkles and other signs of aging are avoided.

- Helping the skin recover from daily damage. This product contains Cotton Seed extract, which has been found to help minimize environmental damages on the skin and help it recover.

- Restoring the skin barrier. With ingredients such as Acai Berry extract (replenishes antioxidants), Pomegranate Sterols (strengthen and stabilize skin barrier), and Chestnut Seed extract (promotes cell turnover), your skin is well-equipped to restore itself.

Or at least that's what I'm going to do because it's the most cost effective and I am totally out of all my skin stuff right now.
