I'm jess. I live in Upstate New York with my smarty pants cutie pie boyfriend and pain in the ass cat. I have a pinterest addiction and an all encompassing sweet tooth.
I do a lot of stuff. One might say I really take to heart the concept of "renaissance woman." I have about a billion interests, but my current ones consist of making stuff, reading, running, hot yoga, and various domestic arts.
I also have a PhD and teach and write on the environment, environmental policy, and food politics.
I spend a lot of time crafting. I just really like to make stuff! Whatever doesn't end up as a gift to friends or family is for sale in my Etsy store, which I opened in 2009 and which has been steadily growing. I mostly crochet, but I also dig knitting and I'm hoping to take on sewing in the near future.
So far my designs have brought me attention from Craftzine, Etsy Stalker, All Over Albany, The Times Union, NBC Los Angeles, Glass of Win, and Best Age Ever.
I also work as a Makeup Artist. Right now I am a senior independent beauty consultant for Mary Kay (whose skincare I especially love). I am also a certified MAC Makeup Artist. I freelance for print and weddings.
